Buy of the Day: Sexy Over-the-Knee Sock Boots

I have had a hard time deciding what boots to purchase this year because there are so many cool looks to choose from–embroidered, ankle booties, velvet ones, bejeweled pearly ones, and more. I usually buy one new pair each fall, so it feels important to get it right. I finally pulled the trigger last week and bought some sexy gray sock boots–over-the-knee height–from Zara.

What I loved about them in the photos on the Zara website were their chic pointy toes, medium-high heel (I just can’t handle super high heels anymore–the ones that put all the pressure on the balls of my feet), metallic gray color, and sleek shape of the sock part.

Well, they arrived yesterday, and I could not be happier. I tried them on right away, and I have to tell you, I love em. First, the heel is just right–not too high, not too low. Second, the sock part is so soft, and it clings nicely to the leg–not too tight, not at all loose. Third, they look really sophisticated and sexy, thanks to that pointy toe. Fourth, I know these are going to look great with dresses, culottes, and cropped, flared jeans (you want to show the sock part). Also, I won’t have to keep tugging on them to keep them up as I have in the past with other boots. They are snug, secure, and comforting (I know that sounds weird but I have the same feeling with these as I had with those velvet Spanx leggings; they are comforting). Fifth, the price–$79.90–is totally reasonable and hasn’t blown my budget.
