The skin is the largest organ of the body, so it’s incredibly important to treat it with care every day. If you, like me, are obsessed with maintaining your youthful glow, here are four tips to make that a reality.
- Wash your face twice at night. Once to remove the day’s grime…a second time to ensure your face is squeaky clean. I use Perfect Image LLC’s Salicylic Deep Gel Exfoliating Cleanser – Enhanced with Tea Tree Oil & Green Tea Extract (Professional). This stuff is amazing. Highly concentrated, it only requires a small dab for each cleansing. It was the only thing that got rid of my deep-seated skin bumps–deep congestion. $24.95. http://www.amazon.com.
- Wash your face early in the evening and put your anti-aging products–Retin-A, Copper serums, etc.–on at that time. This gives them time to work their magic as you are still active with blood circulating. Then put a facial oil on right before bed and do a facial massage to get it there and to keep facial muscles toned. I used Jordan Samuel’s etOILe Facial Oil. I love it. It’s reasonably priced at $33 and the perfect mix of ingredients, plus no weird perfume. http://www.jordansamuelskin.com.
- Use a toner. This is an important step that many skip. It helps to remove any grime that may remain and maintains skin’s pH levels.
- Don’t wear too much makeup. All these layers of contour creams, concealer, and heavy foundations add up to skin getting congested and being unable to breathe. Use minimal makeup and only where you need it. I use a heavy foundation–Dermablend–which I love, but I am careful to get it all off at night and I don’t use any contour creams.
