These days, unless you come from a really well-off family or make boatloads of dough yourself, chances are coming up with the cash for your wedding is a struggle. It seems as though the minute the word “wedding” gets attached to anything–be it food, drink, or venue–the price skyrockets. This is certainly the case when it comes to wedding dresses.

When I was getting married, I felt overwhelmed by all the costs…the ceremony, the reception, the drinks, the appetizers, the tiered wedding cake, and the dress. Like any bride, I wanted to look my very best on this epic occasion. But when I began looking at dresses, I realized that to get the elegant look I wanted, I was going to have to come up with at the very least a grand. And that was the minimum; if I’d had my druthers, it would have been much more…say a custom gown from Stella McCartney. But that simply wasn’t going to happen. I did manage to find a dress that met my budget and that was pretty but it wasn’t really my dream dress.

Since then, I discovered something that I wish I’d known about before. It’s a happy little wedding dress secret. Gorgeous gowns can be found in stores’ “everyday” inventory that mimic the look of classic wedding dresses. These elegant frocks have all the beauty and singularity of wedding dresses but without the exorbitant price tag. In my view, they offer the greatest value when it comes to one’s wedding dress budget. Why blow all your monies on one overpriced dress that you will likely wear just one time when you can look just as glam for a fraction of the price. Believe me, you won’t be sacrificing a thing.

Take a look at some of the divine “regular” dresses currently in stock that can definitely take on the role of dream wedding gown. Whether you want to wear white, ivory, or antique gold, options abound.
